A Laundry Room for Beneficiaries of the Center for Social Services Has Been Launched in the Pechenizka Community

A new important social service has been launched in the Pechenizka community of Chuhuiv district, Kharkiv region — a laundry room for beneficiaries of the Center for Social Services. Its opening became possible thanks to the support of the Charitable Foundation “Source of Revival” (CFSR), which provided modern washing and drying equipment, as well as 500 liters of laundry detergent within the project “Basic Social Support and Capacity Building of Social Service Centers in Communities.”
The laundry room is equipped with professional equipment that significantly improves the quality of social services and optimizes the work of social workers. If previously laundry was often done manually — sometimes even in cold water — today the process has become much simpler, faster, and safer.
Project manager and Director of the Charitable Foundation “Source of Revival” (CFSR), Serhii Zhuk, notes:
Our goal is to make social services accessible and convenient for both staff and beneficiaries.
The community itself also played an important role in implementing the initiative. As emphasized by the Head of the Pechenizka Military Administration, Oleksandr Husarov, after the project approval, a major renovation of the premises was carried out and necessary utilities were upgraded:
Today, we have a modern laundry room that allows us to support our residents and help those who need it.
According to the Director of the Center, Nataliia Karpenko, the new equipment has significantly eased the workload of the team:
This is a great support for our center. The laundry equipment reduces the workload of social workers and saves their time, allowing them to focus more on people.
According to the results of surveys among beneficiaries and staff of the Center, the laundry service has become more accessible and in demand. It is especially important for elderly people, persons with disabilities, and those who find themselves in difficult life circumstances.
The equipment and supply of laundry detergent were provided within the project “Basic Social Support and Capacity Building of Social Service Centers in Communities,” implemented by the Charitable Foundation “Source of Revival” (CFSR) with the support of the Askold and Dir Foundation, administered by ISAR Ednannia within the project “Strong Civil Society of Ukraine – A Driver of Reforms and Democracy,” funded by the governments of Norway and Sweden.
