Together with IOM: From Veterans’ Needs to Practical Solutions
Representatives of the Charitable Foundation “Source of Revival” (CFSR) joined a meeting of war veterans and representatives of veteran NGOs and charitable foundations from Kharkiv and the region with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Ukraine.
The meeting was held as part of the preparation of a new project on mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) for veterans in Kharkiv and nearby communities.
During the session:
- key needs and challenges were discussed
- participants engaged with experts and key informants
- existing resources within communities were identified
Among the ideas discussed:
- psycho-emotional activities: horseback riding, pottery, fishing, bowling, etc.
- development of a map of free and effective MHPSS services
This format of work makes it possible to design a project that is highly practical and tailored to the real needs of communities.
A special focus, in line with donor requirements, was placed on women veterans — including through a dedicated meeting aimed at better understanding their experiences and needs.
