Economic empowerment (self-employment) program

Assistance programs for organizing self-employment for needy vulnerable groups of the population provide for a comprehensive approach, such as: assistance in purchasing professional tools, equipment and techniques for doing work with your own hands, if necessary, psychological support and courses for training in working specialties.

Today, our special attention and assistance are needed by persons temporarily displaced from the war zone, people with disabilities, and other victims of various types of violence (human trafficking, labor slavery, etc.). The problems of this category of people are also exacerbated by the consequences of the full-scale war in Ukraine (unemployment, hunger, diseases, inability to pay for housing, poor living conditions, etc.).

Specifically, a number of these programs have proven themselves well in strengthening the economic potential and sustainable reintegration of victims of human trafficking – in particular, victims of labor slavery.. These programs help victims of modern forms of slavery better reintegrate into society and prevent them from falling back into human trafficking. Beneficiaries of the programs primarily receive the opportunity to earn their own living expenses to support themselves and their families (the opportunity to receive remuneration for their work directly from customers), as well as receive training and experience in business management and develop their own life and business plans.

According to statistics from international organizations, thousands of people affected by human trafficking have received assistance to strengthen their economic potential, have provided for themselves and created hundreds of new jobs, mainly in the fields of: Construction and services – 41%, Service sector – 27%, Trade sector – 19%, Beauty, culture and tourism sector 8%, Other – 5%.

Financial resources for the implementation of business plans through micro and small grants, which are provided on a competitive basis, will give former victims of human trafficking the opportunity to become more self-sufficient and economically independent.

Assistance in the form of financial support or the necessary working tools, machinery, and equipment for these programs will enable people to continue to independently provide themselves and their families with the most necessary things – food, housing, clothing, access to medicine, and more.
