Completion of a Project to Strengthen Social Services in Communities of Kharkiv Region

The Charitable Organization “Charitable Foundation ‘Source of Revival’” (CFSR) has completed the implementation of the project “Basic Social Support and Capacity Building of Social Service Centers in Communities,” aimed at improving the quality and accessibility of social services in the Pechenizka and Prolisnenska communities of Kharkiv region through the introduction of a comprehensive approach to the development of social support services and increasing their effectiveness.

Within the project, two laundry rooms were established in the Centers for Social Services of the communities. Four sets of professional washing and drying equipment were purchased and delivered, along with a supply of 1000 kg of laundry detergent intended for the first months of operation. This made it possible to shift from manual washing to an organized service, optimize the work of social workers, and significantly improve the quality of services provided. In total, more than 250 people used the service, which positively impacted their daily living conditions.

An important result was the introduction of case management and psychological support services for families in difficult life circumstances. Within the project, 112 families received support, including individual case management, assistance with documentation, access to social and medical services, and psychological support. This allowed for a more systematic response to beneficiaries’ needs and contributed to stabilizing their life situations.

To strengthen the professional capacity of staff, eight training sessions were conducted for social workers of the communities. A total of 68 participants took part in the trainings, where they developed practical skills in providing first aid and preventing professional burnout. The acquired knowledge contributed to improving professional competencies, increasing stress resilience, and enhancing the overall quality of social services, while also strengthening specialists’ confidence in working in challenging conditions.

Another important outcome of the project was the strengthening of the organization’s institutional capacity. As part of the implementation, internal policies and procedures were developed and introduced to streamline management processes, increase transparency, and align with modern operational standards. This creates a foundation for the sustainable development of the organization and the effective implementation of future initiatives in communities.

The implementation of the project contributed to tangible improvements in the quality and accessibility of social services in the Pechenizka and Prolisnenska communities of Kharkiv region. The level of systematization, people-centered approach, and the ability to effectively respond to difficult life circumstances has increased. At the same time, trust in social services among residents has been strengthened, and conditions have been created for the further development and sustainable functioning of the social protection system in communities. The project laid the foundation for long-term changes that will contribute to improving the quality of life of vulnerable groups.
