Transporting Children to Their Place of Recreation: Safe Logistics During the War

On August 16, the Charity Foundation “Source of Revival” (CFSR) provided transportation for an organized group of children and accompanying adults from Kharkiv to the Poltava-Kyivska railway station for their onward journey to a recreation programme.
The recreation programme for the children was organized by the Charitable Foundation “Osnova Maibutnoho” and the Kharkiv Church “Osnova”. The group was travelling to the Swedish Aid Centre, represented by Serhii Porokhnavets.
The group included 89 children and 19 accompanying adults. Two CFSR buses were used for the transportation. Evacuation transport of the Relief Coordination Centre was also involved in the logistics. Through joint efforts, the children were picked up in Kharkiv and transported to the Poltava-Kyivska railway station, from where they continued their journey by train.
Due to ongoing hostilities and the related security risks, organized groups of children require additional transport logistics to railway hubs from which they can continue their journey more safely. For this reason, bus transportation from Kharkiv to Poltava was arranged for the group.
On August 24, the Foundation team met the children at the Poltava-Kyivska railway station upon their return and provided transportation back to Kharkiv. Evacuation transport of the Relief Coordination Centre was also involved in the return journey. In this way, safe transportation for the group was ensured in both directions.
During the trip, the Charitable Organization “Soul of Kharkiv” Charitable Foundation, together with Roxana and her team, provided meals for the children and made sure they had a warm and tasty lunch.
For CFSR, it is important to support safe and well-organized transportation for children during the war and to help partners implement recreation, recovery and support programmes.
We thank the Charitable Foundation “Osnova Maibutnoho”, the Kharkiv Church “Osnova” and the Swedish Aid Centre for organizing the children’s recreation programme, as well as the “Soul of Kharkiv” Charitable Foundation, Roxana and her team, for their care and meals for the children.
Special thanks to the Relief Coordination Centre for coordination, the involvement of evacuation transport and fuel support that helped ensure the safe transportation of the children.
